Help Us Grow!

Below are several ways you can contribute!

Encourage People to Join

Whether you're a member or not, chances are you know someone who would love to join. Tell them about us! Talk us up on social media. Get your friends to join with you. Remember that GPMS is funded primarily through membership dues, so we need people to join! Send anyone who's interested to www.greatplainsmakerspace.com/join-us or bit.ly/joinGPMS.

Teach a Class

GPMS classes are opportunities for enthusiastic people to share their knowledge and passion with others. 50% of the proceeds from a class go to the teacher, so it's an opportunity to make a bit of money, too! You don't have to be an expert to teach a class--if you know more than the average person about any specific maker-related skills, click here to submit your class ideas. We'll gladly consider any class proposals, and we are specifically looking for people to teach:

  • Basic hand tools for kids
  • Block printing
  • Calligraphy
  • Candle making
  • Costuming
  • Crocheting
  • Knitting
  • Programming
  • Prop making
  • Sewing
  • Wood turning
  • Woodworking

Become a Sponsor

There are two ways you or your company can become a sponsor of GPMS:

    • Naming Partnership. In thanks for your one-time gift, your name (or your company's name) is permanently added to a Lab, Studio, or Wing of the makerspace building.
    • Corporate Sponsorship. In thanks for your company's ongoing support of the makerspace, we offer discounted membership rates to all of your employees.

For more information on sponsorships please contact any member of the GPMS Board.

    Donate Tools & Equipment

While some of our equipment was funded through grants, much of it was donated by generous community members. All of our major Wood Lab tools, for example, were donated.

You may have tools and equipment that are either sitting unused or are only used once or twice a year. Consider giving them to the makerspace so they can be used by members year round. We accept donations (which are tax deductible) as well as long-term loans. You can find our long-term loan agreement here.
