Women, Innovation, Skills, and Entrepreneurship (WISE) Program

This July Great Plains MakerSpace is happy to be hosting a new month long series!  It's called Women, Innovation, Skills, and Entrepreneurship or WISE.  It is a partnership with the Kansas Small Business Development Center (KSBDC), made possible through a grant from Women of Purpose.  

WISE empowers women by providing hands-on skills training and entrepreneurial education.  This 5-week workshop will meet every Tuesday night in July from 6pm to 8pm.  This program is for women with an entrepreneurial and creative spirit who would like to learn more about how to build their own small business centered around goods they can make themselves.

Turn Your Idea Into a Thriving Business
Our Business Development Training gives you the tools to confidently launch and grow your business. Learn how to:

•     Research your market and identify customer needs
•     Define your business concept and unique value
•     Write a business plan to guide growth and attract funding
•     Understand startup costs and explore funding options
•     Choose the right legal structure for your business
•     Register your business name and get tax IDs
•     Obtain licenses and permits to operate legally
•     Set up financial systems and manage your money
•     Purchase business insurance for peace of mind
•     Pick a location or online platform to reach your audience
•     Build your brand and online presence to stand out

Whether you're starting from scratch or refining a current idea, this training gives you a solid foundation to succeed.

Weekly Sessions

Each weekly session will include:

• A presentation over the topics above from KSBDC, 
• A presentation with Q&A from local SWKS women entrepreneurs, and
• A demonstration of some of the tools available at GPMS to help make you goods.
